Iron Cross 2nd Class (Eisernes Kreuz 2. Klasse). The Iron Cross was reinstated by Adolf Hitler on September 1, 1939 (first awarded in 1813). It was awarded for meritorious service, usually in an individual action. The cross has a three-piece construction with an iron core. It shows only minor wear and has beautiful details; the frame has a slightly darker patina. The cross is maker-marked with the number '27', indicating production by the company Maria Schenkel from Vienna, Austria. A beautiful original cross in very good condition! It comes with its original paper award pouch. A rare set that is rarely found on the market.
