The Infantry Sturmabzeichen in silver was instituted on December 20, 1939, by Walther von Brauchitsch and was awarded to all non-motorized infantry and mountain troops who participated in three different attacks on three different days. The medal is made of "Feinzink" and has lost most of its original silver finish. The needle and clasp are complete and functional.
