Luftwaffe wrist compass (Armbandkompaß AK39). The AK39 (Armbandkompaß 39) was developed in 1939 for pilots and other aircraft personnel to determine their position in case of emergency or during an emergency landing. The AK39 was designed to be worn on the wrist, although it was often attached to other pieces of equipment. The black Bakelite compass is in good, functional condition. A Luftwaffe contract number (FL23235-1) is neatly engraved on the back of the compass. The compass is complete with the original leather straps. This is a beautiful original Luftwaffe pilot's compass in good, used condition!
