Wehrmacht (Heer) M40 combat helmet with single emblem (Stahlhelm M40). The M40 helmet, made of stamped sheet steel, still largely retains its raw, field-grey paint . The paint shows normal wear and scratches from use; see photos. A standard Heeres emblem is applied to the left side of the helmet; the emblem is approximately 75% intact. All three rivets securing the inner lining are intact. The inside of the helmet is an M31 leather lining with all eight fingers intact. The lining is complete with the original cord.
