Reichstag elections of November 6. These were the last free elections in Germany until 1949. Hitler became Chancellor of Germany in January 1933. Although the Nazi Party (NSDAP) lost votes in these elections, it was the largest party in Germany, with a margin of 13 percentage points, compared to the SDP. This exacerbated the conflict between the Nazis and the various communist parties of the time. These last elections played a crucial role in Hitler's eventual dictatorship.
