Rare original English Mk2 helmet issued to the Dutch Shock Troops, who fitted this helmet with a Dutch lion and an orange band.
The helmet still has a very neat interior, which is dated 1943, though difficult to see in the photo.
The chin strap is also still nice and supple.
The Dutch shock troops were equipped with British and American equipment in 1944/45 to fight in the liberation of the Netherlands; 102 of the 6,000 troops lost their lives during the liberation of the Netherlands.
